Hunting and Fishing Club Newsletter - February 2011

To All 2010 / 2011 Members:

We have just completed one of our most successful and satisfying seasons to date. Our estimate is between 15-16 hundred geese taken. One party got over 110 and some of the new people got 20-25. Some people who only went a few times hit it right and some did not. As always the people who went the most and stayed the longest always did good overall.

I talked to an acquaintance who runs a club on fields by Greeley and he said they had a real poor year and his rates are $1500.00 per hunter (no kids).

I want to thank everyone for being so patient during the construction. We had been promised this work would be done before the season. Then when they started as the goose season started they said it would only be about two weeks. Trina and I have no control over things like that so we just have to do the best we can.
We had the best year ever for people not calling before 6pm or after 8pm. We had no problems with parking and getting cars in and out quickly. We had no complaints about people staying down in the blind and we got many compliments on the 10 foot rule and people letting geese work. We did have complaints during the duck season when we do not have a rule for duck.

We were glad to see people using car tire decoys and we will try to get more cleaned up and painted for next year.

We had more people learn how to dress geese in hot water and wax and cook the whole carcass.

We had many compliments on being kid friendly and we had five young people shoot their 1st goose.

Those who have already paid for next year use the enrollment letter for a friend or give us a referral.

The only change in rates will be fishing, camping and summer recreation only at $300.00 total. All of this is included in the regular membership.
