To All 2009 Hunting and Fishing Members:
The dove season opens Tuesday, September 1st at 1/2 hour before sunrise. Dove hunting members just come and go as you please. We are seeing a lot of doves already. We only hunt until noon on dove and early duck. Trap shooting must stop on August 15th. We will not hunt in front of the big gray house to the south.
After September 1st fishing will not be permitted until after 12 noon. We will not allow overnight camping after September 1st.
The teal season starts Saturday, September 12th. On the teal season you must call after 6 PM and get a blind assignment. If you take a guest for hunting dove or duck you must pay the guest fee and fill out an envelope that shows date, member name, guest name, and guest phone number. Not paying for your guest or not filling out the information will be grounds to cancel your guest privilege for the season. The $25.00 guest fee must be in the box by the lodge before the guest goes to the hunting ground. The member is responsible for the guest fee. Excuses like I forgot or I was late or I intended on paying on the way out are not acceptable.
The lock on the gate will be changed on August 20th. All hunters and fishermen will need to use the new number on the entrance gate and gate at the northeast corner of the big lake after August 20th.
OVERNIGHT LODGING AT 2040 KERN:
Overnight lodging for hunting club members: We have put 3 single beds in our Club room at the house and anyone can stay free of charge. Just let us know if you want to stay overnight. Trina and I will provide food if you want to eat with us. Also, if you want something special if you provide it we will cook it for you. You must bring your own bedroll and pillow. We will keep the Club room heated from the house or use the furnace in the Club room.
We hope some people will take advantage of this and save on motel bills and eating out. We have a lot of fun.
Please contact us any time if you have any questions at 970-221-1362.
Sincerely,
Charles Whipple, Mgr.
