Hunting and Fishing Club Newsletter - February 2008

We had a real good dove and duck hunting season in 2007 - 2008.  The goose season started out good then dropped off for a while.  Fortunately goose season did pick up again towards the end of the season.  We are due a good hunting season and are hoping 2008 will be it.

We hope next year more people will take advantage of more of the club benefits offered.  Camping, fishing, bird watching, and dog training are a few of the benefits offered to members and included in membership.

Fishing should be good this year as we intend to stock the lake with fish such as catfish, crappie, and small mouth bass.  The kids should also be able to catch carp and pan fish.  Please remember though that canoes and boats are allowed on the lake as long as all the state requirements ( i.e. license, life jackets, etc. ) are met.  Out board motors are not allowed on the lake at any time.

Members may take a guest free for bird watching, camping, training dogs, trap shooting, and fishing as long as the guest is accompanied by the member at all times.  Also the member is responsible for the guest at all times.

We are sorry Trina and I couldn't spend more time at the club this past (6) six weeks.  Unfortunately, I broke my ankle due to a fall on the ice on January 13th and required a lot of care and assistance.  I will be all right and ready for the 2008 - 2009 season when it starts.

Work Day

Work day will be Saturday, February 23rd this year starting at 08:00 am.  Please give Trina a hand as she donates an awful lot of her time to the club and its members outside of her own job in appliances.  All help is appreciated and helps to make our club a better place and a more memorable time for it's members and guests.

Membership Information for 2008 - 2009 Season

For the 2008 - 2009 season we will offer a week day water fowl hunting membership that does not include any of the normal membership privileges.  The cost for this membership will be $475.00.  The 2008 - 2009 member enrollment form has been posted on the site and may be found under Forms.

Please note:
Membership runs from the time payment is made in full to the following March 1st.

Sincerely,

Charles Whipple, Mgr.
